During 2024 Andrew MacDonald (a foodbank volunteer) painted portraits of people involved in the foodbank community; as guests, volunteers and drivers. Over a 12-month period he produced one portrait a month.

In addition, Andrew has produced a beautiful book that includes the 12 portraits as well as photographs of the food bank set up and clear up as well as the thoughts from those involved. The book is available by donation of £10 a copy. All proceeds from the book will go to the Hornsey Food Bank.

The Portraits will be on show and the book available to buy at these two events in June 2025:

  • 7th & 8th June during Crouch End Open Studies at venue 22: 72 South View Road, N8 7LS

  • 14th & 15th June: Face to Face Exhibition at The Original Gallery, Hornsey Library, Haringey Park N8 9JA. This exhibition is a collaboration between Coleridge Primary School and local artists as part of the Crouch End Festival. Andrew’s book will be available at the gallery.

Purchase the book here with a £10 donation.

Further Supporting the Hornsey Food Bank: Every Donation Counts

We rely entirely on the generosity of donors and volunteers. Our budget is tight and the number of people that we need to support is constantly rising. We would be so grateful if you would consider supporting us by donating any amount to our local giving page.
